Project Description
Cotswold Village House I
The brief required this four-bedroom 21st century Cotswold stone cottage to be completely transformed into a country retreat based on the family’s lifestyle focused around art, music, cooking and the outdoors.
Subtle spatial replanning opened up the cottage’s rooms, simplified the circulation areas and created a dressing room and ensuite for the master bedroom. We designed a bespoke kitchen with bleached oak-panelled timber, Cumbrian stone worktops, natural limestone floors and a repurposed vintage butcher’s block.
The restrained style of the cottage has been achieved using a host of natural materials and muted tonal hues spanning greenish-greys to pale shades of stone that subtly pull in the colours of the surrounding countryside and the distinctive Cotswold stone of the structure.
The finished result is a series of beautiful, serene open spaces that truly suit the family’s lifestyle.
